Included Activities

Illustration. Dog-sled

Dog sledding

Say hallo to a bunch of barking huskies that are ready for action (but still very friendly). You´ll drive the dog sled by yourself into the white landscapes, through the beautiful Vass valley- an uninhabited forest landscape surrounded by majestic mountains.

Upon arrival at our wilderness camp, you´ll receive outdoor clothes and shoes to keep you warm during your stay. You will get instructions on how to drive a dog sledding team by experienced mushers (click here for instructions).

You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each sled, with the opportunity to switch places half way. The trails you follow have a total distance of approximately 10-12 km, and you will be on the sled for about 1,5-2 hours. At the end of the trail you will return to Camp Tamok. There you will be served a hot meal and fresh coffee in the dining lavvu (Sami herdsmen’s tent).

Tromsø ice domes

Set among high mountains in the beautiful Tamok Valley, Tromso Ice Domes is built every year as the Polar Night approaches.

The snow and ice art reflects the unique bond between man and nature in a unique and breath-taking manner. The ice bars, our Ice cinema, the ice hotel bedroom and ice restaurant have themes ranging from local Sami culture to the Northern Lights conveyed through beautiful colored lighting and wonderful ice sculptures.

On arrival at Tromso Ice domes, you will be greeted by your guide who will share their knowledge about the construction process of an ice hotel and guide about the impact the snow has for the survival of our arctic animals. A non-alcoholic ice shot at the stunning ice bar is complementary. You will be able to purchase other drinks and order a delicious meal of locally produced bacalao, which will be served in the ice restaurant.

Please note that as we maintain a temperature of minus 5 ˚C inside the ice domes, we recommend our guests to wear warm winter clothing.

Welcome to a once-in-a-lifetime experience of snow and ice magic in the Arctic wilderness!
